Malleable iron reducing street elbow is used to connect two pipes of different size by male and female threaded connection, so to make the pipeline turn 90 degree for changing the fluid flow direction.
This product is a malleable iron threaded 90° reducing street elbow, a key pipe fitting used for simultaneous reducing and 90° turning connection in pipeline systems. It has one female end, one male end with different diameters, which can directly realize reducing turning without additional adapters, ensuring smooth directional flow of media such as water, oil, gas and steam.
Are you looking for a pipe fitting that is easy to install, ensures a tight pipeline system while offering high strength and corrosion resistance? Our malleable iron 90° Reducing Street Elbow Fig 92R BSPTis made of high-quality material through high-temperature annealing forging, resulting in a dense internal structure capable of withstanding working pressures up to 1.6Mpa (16kg), effectively solving the leakage risk at pipe reducing corners. The surface is treated with uniform anti-rust coating, which is continuous and burr-free. The integrated structure has higher strength and quicker installation, greatly improving construction efficiency and service life of the product.
The product is available in various nominal diameters from DN15 (1/2″) to DN100 (4″) and offers multiple surface treatment options such as natural and yellow-zinc plated. It can be widely used in various working conditions including fire protection, water supply, gas, chemical industry, and plumbing installation.
| SIZE | A (MM) | B (MM) | |
| 3/4”X1/2” | DN20X15 | 30 | 65.4 |
| 1”X3/4” | DN20X20 | 35 | 46 |
Intended Use:
Fire Protection Systems: Used for 90° reducing turning connection between fire sprinkler branch pipes and risers, suitable for wet or dry fire protection pipe networks, especially for narrow space scenarios.
Commercial Buildings: Applied in air conditioning pipelines, water supply and drainage systems in banks, hotels, and shopping malls.Industrial Plants: Suitable for industrial reducing pipelines conveying non-strongly corrosive media such as steam, coal gas, and compressed air.
Residential Plumbing: Used for water circuit modification in home decoration, connecting terminals like water heaters and faucets to realize pipeline reducing turning.
Compatibility:
Perfectly compatible with galvanized steel pipes and black steel pipes.
Must be used with PTFE tape or oiled hemp for thread sealing.
Can be used together with gate valves, globe valves, tees, unions, and other fittings of the same specification.
1.Inspection: Before installation, check the internal and external surfaces of the elbow for sand holes and cracks, ensure the female and male threads are complete without breakage.
2.Cleaning: Remove iron chips and dirt from the pipe ends.
3.Sealing: Wind an appropriate amount of PTFE tape clockwise (recommended 15-20 turns) or apply oiled hemp onto the male thread of the elbow.
4.Tightening: Screw the elbow into the pipe joint by hand, then tighten with a pipe wrench. Use moderate force to avoid cracking the fitting. It’s recommended to secure the pipe near the elbow with a pipe clamp to reduce vibration.
1.Inspection Cycle: It is recommended to visually inspect the elbow every six months, especially at threaded connections, checking for signs of rust or leakage.
2.Cleaning Method: Wipe the surface dust with a clean, damp cloth. For rust removal, use a wire brush to clean and then apply anti-rust paint.
3.Replacement Cycle: Generally, if there is no mechanical damage or severe corrosion, it can be used for over 10 years. If the elbow shows sand holes, deformation, or cracks due to freezing, replace it immediately.
Product List:
Steel Pipe: Match with standard galvanized steel pipes of the same specification (e.g., DN25, DN50).
Pipe Hangers/Supports: Provide matching U-bolts, hanger rods for fixing pipeline direction.
Other Fittings: 90° equal street elbows, 45° street elbows, reducing tees, unions, full thread nipples.
Sealing Materials: High-quality PTFE tape or liquid pipe sealant.
Combining these with our hot-dip galvanized steel pipes and seismic bracing systems builds a sturdy, durable, and code-compliant complete pipeline system. This ensures the pipeline does not detach and fluid delivery is uninterrupted during a fire or emergency.
