Product Overview

This product is a malleable iron taper seat Union Fig 341 BSPT with male & female threads, manufactured in accordance with BS EN standards. With one female end and one male end and conical sealing structure, it provides tight sealing and higher pressure resistance, mainly used for flexible assembly, disassembly and maintenance in pipelines. It is widely suitable for water, oil, gas, compressed air, low-pressure steam and fire protection piping systems.

Made of high-quality black heart malleable iron through high-temperature annealing, it features excellent toughness, impact resistance and resistance to cracking. The taper seat ensures high fitting accuracy and less leakage, easy to assemble and disassemble with repeated usability. Available in electro-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized or black finish with good corrosion resistance and easy installation, it is ideal for piping systems requiring high sealing reliability.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation

1. Inspect the Union Fig 341 BSPTbefore installation to ensure no sand holes, cracks, deformation and intact taper sealing surface
2. Clean pipe ends and internal threads to remove impurities
3. Wind PTFE tape clockwise or apply thread sealant on male threads
4. Connect the male end first, then tighten the Union Fig 341 BSPTnut evenly to achieve automatic centering and sealing via the conical surface
5. Conduct pressure test after installation and use only after no leakage is confirmed

Maintenance

1. Regularly inspect Union Fig 341 BSPTjoints for leakage, looseness and corrosion
2. Avoid collision on the taper surface during disassembly to prevent sealing failure
3. Apply anti-rust paint for outdoor or humid environments to improve corrosion resistance
4. Replace immediately if taper surface is damaged, threads are worn or sealing fails
