Product Overview

This product is a malleable iron Reducing Socket Fig 246 BSPT with male & female threads, manufactured in accordance with BS EN standards. It has male thread on one end and female thread on the other with different diameters, mainly used for reducing transition between pipes of different sizes to realize convenient connection.

Made of high-quality black heart malleable iron with high-temperature annealing, it features compact structure, good toughness, stable pressure resistance and not easy to crack. With high-precision threads for tight fitting and strong sealing, it is corrosion-resistant and easy to install with electro-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized or black finish. Widely used in water, gas, steam, fire fighting and various industrial low-pressure fluid piping systems.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation

1. Inspect the Reducing Socket Fig 246 BSPTbefore installation to ensure no cracks, sand holes, deformation and intact threads
2. Clean impurities and burrs at pipe ends and threads to keep connecting surfaces clean
3. Wind PTFE tape clockwise or apply pipe thread sealant on male threads
4. Screw the male end into the corresponding female port first, then tighten evenly with a pipe wrench to avoid overloading
5. Conduct pressure test after installation and use only after no leakage or looseness is confirmed

Maintenance

1. Regularly check joints for leakage, looseness and corrosion
2. Avoid violent impact to prevent cracking or thread damage
3. Apply anti-rust paint in outdoor or humid environments to prolong service life
4. Replace immediately if cracks, deformation, thread wear or sealing failure occurs
